Day - 1 : Guwahati to Shillong - Drive time: 4 hours
Pickup from Guwahati Airport / Railway Station and drive to Shillong. O/n at Shillong.
Day - 2 : Shillong to Mawlynnong - Drive time: 3 hours
After breakfast drive to the village of Mawlynnong, the cleanest village in Asia. This picturesque village on the Indo Bangla Border has a guest house made by the village people out of traditional materials like bamboo and cane. O/n at the Mawlynnong guesthouse.
Day - 3 : Mawlynnong to Cherrapunjee - Drive time: 2.5 hours
Today you will drive to Cherrapunjee. On the way visit Nohkalilaki falls and Rama Krishna mission museum. O/n at Cherrapunjee.
Day - 4 : Cherrapunjee
The Cherrapunjee area is famous for root bridges which are constructed by extending the roots of the Indian rubber tree. Undertake a full day trek to the unique double decker root bridges . O/n at hotel in Cherrapunjee.
Day - 5 : Cherrapunjee - Caving and drive to Shillong
Head out for a full day excursion to Krem Mawmluh . With a total length of over 7kms of cave passages, Krem Mawmluh is situated approximately half a kilometre west of Cherrapunjee adjacent to the small hamlet of Mawmluh from which the cave takes its name. The cave's 7 kms contain of passages much of which are fine river passages of impressive proportions, calcite formations of various kinds, waist deep pools, few metres of belly crawl and few climbs.
After the caving excursion drive to Shillong. O/n at Shillong
Day - 6 : Shillong
In the morning go for an excursion to the sacred forests of Mawphlang . On the way back visit Shillong peak from where one can get panoramic views of entire Shillong. In the afternoon go to Bara bazaar, one of the biggest and exotic markets in all of North East. From there drive near the Polo ground to witness a game of "teer" or traditional archery. Day - 7 : Shillong to Tezpur - Drive time: 7 hours
Start early for your long drive to Tezpur. O/n at Tezpur.
Day - 8 : Tezpur to Thembang - Drive time: 6 hours
A hour and a half drive from Tezpur would get you to Bhalukpong, the border town to West Arunachal. From here you road will keep climbing up the Kameng valley. On the way stop at Tipi Orchid centre. A little before Dirang you will take a bifurcation to reach the village of Thembang. O/n at a homestay in Thembang.
Day - 9 : Thembang
From Thembang there are several day treks possible, so you can speak with the coordinator of the tourism committee who will arrange for a guide. O/n at a homestay in Thembang.
Day - 10 : Thembang to Zemithang - Drive time: 7 hours
Drive to the remote Zemithang valley on the tri junction of India Bhutan and China. On the way you will cross the Sela Pass at 14,000 feet. O/n at a homestay in Lungpoo village in Zemithang.
Day - 11 : Zemithang
Since you'll are interested in trekking and adventure it would be a good idea to spend 2 days here and do some day treks to explore this remote valley. O/n at a homestay in Lungpoo village in Zemithang.
Day - 12 : Zemithang
Excursion Zemithang
Day - 13 : Zemithang to Tawang - Drive time: 2.5 hours
Drive to Tawang, on the way visit the War memorial. O/n at a hotel in Tawang.
Day - 14 : Tawang
Weather permiting drive to PT Tso lake and Madhuri lake. In the seond half of the day you can visit the Tawang monastery. O/n at a hotel in Tawang.
Day - 15 : Tawang to Bhalukpong - Drive time: 10 hours
Start very early in the morning for your long drive to Bhalukpong. O/n at Bhalukpong.
Day - 16 : Bhalukpung to Guwahati
In the morning walk around Nameri forest or go rafting on the Nameri river. After lunch drop to Guwahati. (End of trip).
